Junior Lifeguard Camp is a fun three day camp offering a great intro to Lifeguarding. Camp includes basic water rescue & safety, first aid, swim conditioning, & team building.

Prerequisite: Must be able to pass the RHC Lifeguard Test and swim 25 yards of freestyle.

LIFEGUARD TRAINING WITH KATHY TOWEY

Ages: 15 years & up

Are you looking for a great job or a challenging career? The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies. As well as to provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illness until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel take over. Upon successful completion of a written exam and skills test students will receive a 2-year certification from American Red Cross in Lifeguard Training, First Aid, and CPR/AED for lifeguards.

June 3, 4, 10, & 11 (Sat & Sun)
10AM – 5PM

Prerequisites:

  1. Must be 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of this course.
  2. Swim 300 yards continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.
  3. Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs. Candidates should place their hands under their armpits.
  4. Complete a time even with 1 minute, 40 seconds:
  • Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. The face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed.
  • Surface dive, feet-first or head-first, to a depth of 7-10 feet to retrieve a 10 pound object.
  • Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface so they are able to get a breath. Candidates should not swim the distance under water. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

BABYSITTER’S TRAINING WITH KATHY TOWEY

Ages: 11-16 years

Gain the knowledge and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. This course combines video, activities, hands-on skills training and discussion for a complete learning experience. Babysitter’s Training teaches child safety, care-giving, and communication skills necessary for them to start their babysitting business.

SUMMER WATER POLO CLINICS 2017

Ages: Middle School through High School

This clinic is designed to cover the needs of new players as well as those that are already accomplished in the game.

Learn the game of water polo and experience conditioning and endurance training. Learn basic game play, skills, passing catching, dribbling, shooting, drills, swimming, offense, defense, and scrimmage games.

Must register online and bring receipt to first practice.

Prerequisite: Must be able to pass RHC Lifeguard Test and swim 25 yards of freestyle.
